Dominate Education So Your Students Can Dominate Theirs

Early Life

Russell Rice graduated with a history degree from Binghamton University. While weighing his options for a profession post graduation, he had an opportunity to earn a teaching degree from St Thomas Aquinas. Immediately upon student teaching, Russell knew education was the correct path for him. He went on to earn his masters degree in Instructional Technology.

Career

Sometimes it pays to be in the right place at the right time

With no job in site near his home, Russell was going to move back to his college town and try to find some type of employment there. Just before leaving, he got a call from Suffern Middle School asking if he would interview for a leave replacement. 20+ years later, he is still in the same class room that he started in his first year. Due to the success that Russell had with his PBL projects, Russell was named PBL coach for the middle school where he coaches teachers in creating their own PBL units.

A love for soccer

Having been a soccer player his entire life, he was offered an opportunity to coach the soccer team at the high school. He coached the junior varsity team for years learning under the tutelage of NY Hall of Fame Coach Bob Walkley. While the JV coach, the team went on to win back to back JV county Championships. When Coach Walkley retired, Russell took over the program and became the varsity coach. He holds a United States C license as well as many other certifications.
